Hitting the road

It's travel time again and I'm putting on the driving gloves for a trip home to Kentucky.   I'll be attending my 25th-year high school reunion where I hope to see many of my fellow Panthers of the Daviess County High School class of 1984.  Of course I won't forget to indulge in some Moonlite BBQ and I'll probably pass by Gabe's Tower several times (it's in pretty sad shape, these days) while I'm out and about.  Click here for the Moto Blog, or click on the image above to follow the adventure.

Grandfather, great-grandfather, great-uncle

This is a photo of my grandfather, Marvin Clarence Eans, Jr., left, my great-grandfather Marvin, Sr., and my great-uncle Jack Eans.  It was taken in February, 1931, in Kentucky.  My Grandfather would have been seven-years-old at the time.  He worked for the General Electric Company for 37 years and was a veteran of WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.   In 1999,  I gave him a blank book for Christmas and asked him to write about his life and give it to me the next Christmas.  He did.  This is what he wrote about his experience in WWII.

Here's a pic that I snapped of my Bro., Kris,  a while back.   It was originally used in an illustration for a newspaper story that published on Halloween Day.   He was gracious enough to be the model for the project.  The article rehashed ghost stories on the campus of East Carolina University.   I shot a photo of a landmark on campus and lit it with orange lights and added this image in the foreground.  The illustration was used but this pic got lost in the shuffle, so I am bringing it back out.  I don't know where the illustration went.   Maybe I'll find it and post it later.
