Mars and Regulus with be separated by a mere .7º tonight with Saturn close by in the neighborhood of the Sickle in Leo. Keep watching Mars and Saturn as they Approach each other over the next few nights. Saturn is at Magnitude +0.8, Mars is +1.6 and Regulus is at +1.4. Make sure you go out early because the three are setting in the western sky early.

Greg Eans is an award-winning photographer whose photographs have appeared in many publications across the globe. In his twenty years of experience as a photojournalist and photo editor in the United States he has produced work for and has been published in magazines and newspapers such as Time, People and USA Today and has been featured several times in MSNBC's Photos of the Week. He has also been a lecturer for the Southern Short Course in News Photography. He has won awards for his work photographing the flooding and devastation from Hurricane Floyd in Eastern North Carolina and the efforts to save animals in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Mississippi and Louisiana.
